So much for saving the environment...

A while back, I decided to try forgoing paper towels in our house just to see how it worked. Partly because I wanted to save money, partly in attempt to save the environment.

We bought a pack of white towels at Costco that I was thinking would replace the paper towels. I originally intended to get microfiber towels, like these, which I have heard are awesome:

Ours didn't turn out so awesome, but they still did the trick. For a while at least.

But over the past few months, Kod has calmly and patiently commented every time it would've been nice to have a paper towel. Which ended up being quite often. Our white towels, or napkins, or a plate or something else always worked out fine, but I knew he really would've rather had a paper towel.

So today I went to Costco...and bought this:

15 massive rolls of paper towels! I don't think Kod will have to worry about us running out and me not buying more anytime soon.

*Side note: I ran into Costco to grab paper towels and toilet paper. No need for a cart right? I'm just grabbing two things! Well, I forgot that things at Costco are about the size of Texas, or at least the size of me. So picture me, attempting to carry a huge thing of paper towels under one arm and another huge thing of toilet paper under the other. I stopped multiple times to "readjust" on my way to the check out counter. Then I got smart and grabbed a cart on my way to the car.

*Side note #2:
Since trying this experiment, which wasn't completely a failure (I just figured Kody puts up with enough other stuff from me that I'd allow him the convenience of a paper towel), I've definitely noticed how many paper towels we use each day! I can't believe how many we go through at work!

Moral of the story: Sorry Earth, it looks like the Carrs won't be saving you one paper towel at a time this year. Maybe we'll try to save you again later.
