Puppy Newbies

You know you're a new puppy owner when...

1) You carry around poop baggies in your purse.

2) You get excited to find out about new no-leash doggie parks in the area.

3) You search to the bottom of the treat bag hoping for a coupon (okay, maybe that's me...well, Kody actually found the coupon!)

4) You praise the puppy a million times over for sleeping in until 8:45 a.m. on a Sunday!

5) You almost start to cry when the coat tree falls over, hits the puppy and he runs to you wimpering and limping. (How in the world am I going to handle a child getting hurt! I'm going to be a blubbery mess!)

6) You look forward to your morning snuggle time.


7) You let the puppy lick your face. (YUCK!! But can you believe I apparently love Noodles so much that I've been letting him lick my face!? I still cannot believe it.)

8) You have a crate in your bedroom and your husband uses it as a nightstand.

9) You have a second crate in your closet because the puppy ruined the zipper and chewed a hole in it.

10) You bribe the puppy with treats and a Kong, so he doesn't eat all the toilet paper and whine at the bathroom door, while you hurriedly complete your morning shower.

And finally...

11) You excitedly call your hubby when you read on a blog that there's a huge pet supplies sale on Amazon. You spend the entire morning debating on how to spend the money you set aside for these new pet supples. And you eagerly anticipate receiving the package of $1 bags of treats, $1 puppy chew/teething toys and $1 doggie vitamins (that normally run like $35!).
