Just a little bit of ice cream!
Can we all repeat out loud - "Katie needs to run a lot this summer."
But I just couldn't pass up the good deals, which Kody is trying to convince me isn't as good of a deal as I think it is. I'm trying not to listen.
A few weeks ago, I invested in some StoneRidge ice cream after tasting a delicious sample and receiving a coupon, making the ice cream $2 per carton. Pretty good considering the ice cream retails for $6.
Then tonight, after making a grocery trip to Kroger, I convinced Kody that he could rent a RedBox movie if he'd let me stop at Jewel-Osco to partake in this second amazing ice cream deal. He agreed :)
Breyers ice cream was on sale 2/$6, but if you spend $25, you get a $10 coupon back. Because of how the "grocery game rules" work, if you buy 4 ice creams (normally $6.50 a piece), you make it past the $25 mark (b/c of the original price), earning yourself $10 back. AND I had a $1 coupon! So, in the end I spent $11.12 for four delicious containers of ice cream (not a bad deal in itself because that normally would have cost around $26!) and I now have $10 to spend on our next shopping trip!
Again, Kody is trying to convince me that I'm really just getting about $20 worth of groceries for $11, which may be right, but I like to think that I only really paid $1.12 for all that Breyers ice cream.
Or maybe we should just be spending our time wrestling over who gets to dig into the Peanut Butter Tracks Overloaded, Vanilla Fudge Brownie and Snickers first. Because what's done is done, and now we've got seven very delicious-looking cartons of ice cream in our freezer that need to be devoured. There's no going back now.
**If I look a little heavier at the end of the summer, you know who to blame. Definitely Kody. He twisted my arm to buy all this dairy goodness and then left me to eat it all.**
Hmm, maybe I need to come visit this summer?
