Prom: Then, Then and Now

Tonight my younger brother went to his last Prom of high school and I thought, in memory of my high school Proms and in honor of my little bro, I'd go to Prom too!

Peotone High School Prom, to be exact.

Wild Things was the theme.
Hilton Garden Inn was the place.
Taking pics for the paper was the job.

After 45 minutes of too much dancing, dresses and loud music, I was out of there, but it was still fun to think back about my prom experiences. So here's Prom: Then, Then and Now

Prom Then #1: Went with a new boyfriend; ate at a great restaurant downtown; drove in a sweet Porsche
Prom Then #2: Went with a great date - one of my good friends Leah!; ate at a cool Italian place with all my best friends; drove a green mini-van

Prom Now: Wanted to go with the BEST DATE EVER - a handsome hubby - but he ditched me for a track meet, so I went stag; ate a box of macaroni and cheese three hours before the event and a box of cereal after; drove my gold Honda Accord that the p's wouldn't let me drive to Prom five years ago!
Observations - While many of my friends and I went stag to a few dances, Peotone High School was having none of that! I don't think I saw anyone stag there!

Prom Then #1: No digital camera = no pics!
Prom Then #2: Lots of pics and lots of friends! Hello digital camera!
Prom Now: Super sweet digital camera perfect for taking pics of OTHER people

Prom Then #1: Pretty black, sparkly dress; hair, nails and makeup perfect
Prom Then #2: Wore old dress; normal hair
Prom Now: Jeans, baby! No makeup (oops! Running late!) I did try a new hairstyle - can Katie go curly without a perm? It sort of worked out!

Observation - Yes, Prom styles have changed:

Back in 2004 - A few poofs, a little color ...

And now random people from 2009:

Can you say poofy? And what's with the ties?? All these girls were running around wearing ties around their necks!
Prom Then #1: Danced about one dance; scared out of my mind
Prom Then #2: Danced a few more dances; dreaded every minute of it
Prom Now: Stayed far away from the dance floor; prayed in the corner that my jeans would let everyone know I'm not in high school!

Final Observation - Still don't like dancing! Never have, probably never will!

And now for a pretty picture!
