Can you believe we're entering our third week of being homeowners and we have approximately 3 boxes unpacked and about 50 still sitting in our living room, study and guest room. Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating, but considering Kody and I just spent our first night together, alone, in our new house last night...we've gotten a lot done around here, but not a lot at the same time.
We spent the first few days after closing refinishing the floors (rundown coming soon!) and sleeping in a hotel. Then Kody jetted off to New Mexico for a week for his cousin's wedding/family reunion. I spent a few nights alone in the house and then joined the Carr family in Albuquerque. I then spent a few more nights alone in the house while Kody was finishing packing up and moving all our stuff in St. Charles. But the night Kody arrived with our furniture, my parents also arrived with their paint clothes on and paint brushes in hand. We spent all last weekend painting virtually the entire house (minus the kitchen). Last night we collapsed in bed, finally feeling slightly settled in our new house.
So so thankful for all the help we've received from our parents these past few weeks. What they helped us do in six days would have taken us like six weeks to accomplish!
