Tri, tri, tri, triathalon!

Last fall, a friend coerced me into running a half marathon with her and a few other friends. Then, come February, a few more friends coerced me into this swim, bike, run thing called a triathlon.

And I loved it! I want to do more!

We competed in the Naperville Women's Triathlon on June 12 and had so much fun! Besides the getting up a 3:30 a.m. part.

Lauren, (who did a great post on the tri! I stole most of my pics from her!), me, Anna and Lora

Hanging out before the race. We competed in the "Family" division, so we could all start at about the same time and do the whole course together. However, this meant we had one of the last start times. We arrived at the race at 5:30 a.m. and didn't begin until 8:40 a.m.!

Getting ready to conquer the swim! The swim actually probably ended up being my favorite part! Probably some of that is due to the fact that I miscalculated the distance I needed to swim and had been training double what I needed to! Well, the four times I went swimming, I guess.

Transition area from swim to bike! We swam a 0.46 mile, biked 14.2 miles and ran 3.1 miles. I finished the swim in 14:24, the bike in 59:51 and the run in 26:06.

And this is my favorite photo of all! Click on it to check out my excited face, Lora's extreme tongue concentration and our monster huge muscles!

A race to the finish!
I don't think I've ran that fast since track! And I probably didn't even run that fast back then!

We did it! Great job girls! It was so much fun to experience this with you!
