I blame the construction

Dare I say I wish it was winter again? Or that I wish for snow and rain and ice? I'm probably kidding myself to really wish for those things.

But what I DO wish for is:

** NO MORE CONSTRUCTION**

Which would lead to:

- No more stop-and-go traffic

- No more hour and twenty minute commutes to work

- No more hour and a half commutes home from work

- No more one-lane roads

- And no more stupid drivers rear-ending my car

I've heard that there are two seasons in Chicago: Winter and construction season. Probably everywhere in the Midwest. But never, ever have I experienced it like I'm experiencing now.

Yes, I have now tried 3-4 new and different ways to get to and from work. No, I don't like any of them. Yes, I did get into a car accident last week when a teenager rear-ended me in stop-and-go traffic.

Yes, he thought I was a fellow teenager, when he asked me if my vehicle was mine or my parents'. Yes, the accident wouldn't have happened had I been able to take my traditional way home from work. Yes, my car is in the shop getting fixed, but not on our dime! Yes, I do get to drive a super cool 2009 Hybrid Toyota Camry as a rental car.

And maybe, if I'm lucky enough, the brakes will go out on me during the last few days I drive the car!

Oops. This post turned out to be slightly more bitter than I anticipated, haha. I'm really not that bitter, just need prayer. Prayer for my patience, road rage and sore butt (or bottom. Sorry Mom). Yes, my butt got sore while driving to work this morning. That means I've been in the car for way too long.

Well, at least my car is getting a new butt…I mean bumper, out of the whole fiasco.

  1. LOL HILARIOUS! But funny you mention a need for patience ... I've been thinking a lot recently about how it's a tough virtue to cultivate. I'll be praying for you!
