We've been reminiscing over the weekend about how much fun the whole week leading up to the wedding was and how much we loved our wedding day. We watched our wedding video and laughed a lot at the memories, mishaps, funny things people said to us.

We were definitely reminded of how much work and time went into the day and how many people contributed to making it the greatest day of our lives! I have the urge to write everybody thank you notes again (or apologize for not getting to spend as much time as we wanted with you!), just to remind all of you how much we appreciated even the little things that everyone helped us out with that week. Hopefully this blog post will suffice and let you all know that your efforts did not go unnoticed, even a year later!

Kod and I celebrated our first anniversary with a trip into Chicago to see Mary Poppins, which was wonderful! Great music and dancing and some cool "magical" theater tricks. We love musicals and this one was definitely a great one!
We headed to The Melting Pot for dinner and officially paid our first triple-digit dinner tab. But it was WELL worth the price!

We started out with an amazing cheese fondue that probably could have been a meal in itself. Then a delicious salad and the main course ...
Filet mignon, sirloin steak, lobster tail, shrimp, chicken, pork...
But then came the best part...

DESSERT! We stuffed ourselves full of cheese, meat and veggies, and then overly indulged ourselves in this deliciousness. And because it was our anniversary, you'll notice the beautiful rose petals decorating the plate on the left and the extra plate of treats on the right, just for us!

And then our server asked us if we wanted anything more! We may have asked for a few more rice krispie treats and brownies, which we definitely regretted later that night.
The perfect way for us to celebrate a wonderful first year of marriage! Thanks to all of you for your support and love! We've definitely learned a lot and grown a lot during this past year and couldn't have done it without you.
Cheers to one down ... and many more to go!

We went to the Melting Pot for our 1 year anniversary too!!!! Great minds think alike!

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary (even though I'm a few days late)! It looks like you all had fun! Mike and I thought about going to the Melting Pot, too, but we're thinking that we might go to D.C. if we can swing it.
